What does Galatians 3:27 mean when it says as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ?

Direct

A clear verse states this directly, and no higher-or-equal-authority text overturns it.

To be 'baptized into Christ' means to be united with the Messiah, entering into his death and resurrection, and 'putting on Christ' is Paul's clothing metaphor for the new identity and status that union confers: you now belong to him, and he covers you as a garment covers a person.

The text of Galatians 3:27 itself states the equation plainly, and the surrounding argument (3:23-29) explains what it means: those who have been baptized into the Messiah are sons of God (v.26), heirs of Abraham's promise (v.29), and no longer defined by the old social and ethnic categories (v.28). Romans 6:3-4 confirms the death-and-resurrection dimension of the same baptism language, and Colossians 3:9-12 shows the same 'put on/put off' metaphor applied to moral transformation, together they fill out both the positional and the ethical meaning.
